Little Minister Island at Santanoni

This small island which does not appear on most topographical maps is just across from the boathouse and was named for the play "Little Minister" by J.M. Barrie, popular in the late 1800's. The story of how the island got it's name, is that for one house party in the late 1890's, guests were asked to bring a book to read aloud. Coincidentally everyone brought the same book, "Little Minister". The island was so named.

The original watercolor was one of seven works purchased by General Electric Corporation and is now part of their private collection. Prints in various sizes are available by visiting the (prints page)
